About this course
The CMA Conveyor Certificate Course is to totally familiarise candidates with conveyors in all aspects, but is not a design course. It is intended for artisans, draughtsmen, junior sales people engineers, apprentices and all technical persons finding themselves in a situation where they are employed in a capacity where conveyors are used.
This is a comprehensive course over a three-day duration and is completed with a written examination in order to assess the knowledge gained by the candidate. An overview includes operating procedures, components in key areas, tracking and training belts theory, electrical and safety issues.
What you'll learn
Topics discussed include types of conveyors, components, belt materials, design basics, belt speed, width and class, carcass types, idlers, pulleys, scrapers and ploughs, couplings, motors, gears, bearings and plummer blocks.
Maintenance and inspection items include failures of belt splicing, belt tracking, and other operational issues. Safety issues include guards, nip points, risk assessment and stored energy.
Each candidate receives a full set of notes. A maximum of 20 candidates can be accommodated per course. Lunch and teas are included.
